Feline Genetics

Spent Tuesday, November 1 up at UC Davis with Dr. Leslie Lyons and Serina Filler discussing Selkirks! Took Maks and Deco along so they could contribute more fur and swabs. Spent several hours discussing breeding, breeders, "look", diversity and the possibility that an HCM project will be undertaken for Brits, Persians, Selkirks and Scottish Folds, since their data shows that they are all basically the same "breed". Manx and Devons who also use Brits are apparently separated enough to not be included in the group. Had dinner with Serina and Leslie (after we spent some time at the Halloween store so Leslie could buy more stuff for Halloween (at 50% off, the day after Halloween) for next year's party. Didn't get home until after 10:00 pm and missed seeing David Arquette being voted off DWTS. Thank goodness it wasn't Hope and Maks!
